When you switch your Comparison Shopping Service, you replace a single layer. This guide shows the process, the timeline and the most common sources of error.

When you switch CSS, your Shopping campaigns and sales keep running without interruption.

The CSS submits your products to the Shopping auction. It can be replaced while your campaign structure, bidding strategy and feed stay unchanged.

You save 20% on your click price if you hold your position, or get 25% more bidding power on the same budget. The fixed price is £17 per month, with no setup fee and no minimum term.

When you switch CSS, you simply link your Merchant Center to the new CSS

The switch only changes which CSS your product data is assigned to at account level.

What changes:

  • CSS assignment of your Merchant Center: from the switch onwards, your account submits to the auction through the new CSS.
  • Click price: the CSS advantage lowers your CPC immediately in all your target markets.
  • Contact: account support, invoicing and help are handled by the new CSS from then on.

What stays the same:

  • Your shop: shop system, scripts and tracking remain unchanged.
  • Your Merchant Center: account ID, feeds and product IDs stay the same.
  • Your campaigns: structure, budgets, bidding strategies and assets remain in place.
  • Your history: conversion data and campaign history stay in the account.
Only the party submitting your products changes. Technically, switching CSS is a small change with a big effect on your click costs.

Your campaigns, bidding strategies and learning phases keep running without interruption

Your campaigns keep running without interruption. Smart Bidding keeps its learning phase, and all Performance Max and Shopping campaigns stay active.

Bidding strategies use the conversion data in your Google Ads account. That data is kept. The CSS only changes the identifier used in the auction.

Once the switch is complete, you pay 20% less per click for the same position. Your budget therefore covers more clicks.

Your products stay visible throughout, as long as you leave your feed unchanged in the meantime.

How to migrate successfully in 5 steps

The process is the same, whichever CSS provider you currently use and even if you are on Google Shopping.

Step 1: Take stock

Note your Merchant Center ID, active feeds, target markets and campaign types. If you already use a CSS provider, also check your notice period.

Step 2: Request the switch

Sign up with the new CSS and provide your Merchant Center ID. We send the link request and you confirm it in your Merchant Center. Feeds are not duplicated and campaigns are not paused.

Step 3: Check feed and shipping details

Before the switch, check your shipping costs, delivery times, prices and availability for each target market. These details protect your visibility.

Step 4: Implementation in 48 hours, then checks

The switch happens while everything keeps running. Check product approvals, impressions and your falling CPC. Leave bids and budgets unchanged for now.

Step 5: Evaluation after two to four weeks

Assess CPC, clicks and revenue after two to four weeks. Compare full weeks, including weekends, with the previous period.

Implementation takes 48 hours, and your campaigns keep running throughout

Check these six points before you switch

  • Feed status: there are no major open disapprovals in Merchant Center beforehand.
  • Shipping and delivery time: enter the details separately for each target market.
  • Prices and availability: feed and shop match, including during promotions.
  • Campaign structure: note the current setup as a reference for later comparisons.
  • Tracking: conversion measurement runs reliably and unchanged.
  • Contract: clarify the notice period and billing period with your current CSS provider.
Don't change anything else in the week of the switch. Simultaneous changes make a clean evaluation impossible.

These six mistakes distort the evaluation of your switch

  • Reworking the feed during the switch: switch first, then optimise, so the effects stay clear.
  • Adjusting bids and budgets: changes to bidding strategies distort the measured results of the switch.
  • Running two setups in parallel: assign each product to exactly one CSS to avoid confusion.
  • Evaluating after three days: short periods only show weekday effects.
  • Forgetting target markets: check all target countries, because the advantage applies in every market.
  • Leaving shipping details unchecked: incorrect shipping data often weakens Shopping results, regardless of the CSS.

Once the switch is complete, you pay 20% less per click

You save 20% on your click price if you hold your position, or use the same budget with 25% more bidding power. Our offer costs £17 per month including all target markets, with no setup fee and no minimum term.

The switch is a link set up in the background. As soon as implementation is complete, you pay the lower CPC.
